The Impossible Just Takes a Little Longer

July 19, 2012

I have been back living in my other home Sunny Sharm El Sheik since the middle of April. I am still head over heels in love with Egypt. The place makes me crazy and every day I turn more and more into an Egyptian man but for right now, there is nowhere else in the World I would rather be. The elections have come and gone and things seem pretty settled. No more protesting. Sharm is busy. After a year of wandering around deserted temples and drinking alone in cafes it has been a massive change to actually see other people. The tourists have bravely ventured back. With perfect weather, stunning sea life and 4000 years of history, Egypt will always be popular. Boy is it hot though! Working in 45 degree heat is a challenge yet Somehow my face is still deathly pale.

I will have to leave Egypt in a few months and although it breaks my heart to think about going I am focusing on having the best time before I leave. I want to see everything. First order of business when I came back from my few weeks in Scotland was a Rea Sea boat trip. It is funny to look at these photos and see clouds. I doubt I have seen any since. It looks freezing but it was probably 35 degrees. I have met a lot of incredible people in Egypt. Working overseas colleagues become friends and friends become family. We are one big happy gypsy family in Sharm!
